Hue Salon Wins Salon Today’s Salon of Distinction
Hue Salon has been recognized as a Salon of Distinction for Salon Today’s Salons of the Year, an award to recognize salon design. This February marked one year since our move into our new space and we’re honored to have been included alongside some of the most beautiful salons in the country.
The judging process for Salon of the Year was a rigorous one. After submitting essays and images, each entry was evaluated by a panel of judges from Salon Today and scored on six different categories: use of color, lighting, flooring, efficient use of space, and consistency of design.
Our owners, Tess and Alan, worked closely alongside designer Susan Jackson to create the bright, modern, and clean feel that the space has.
“We used a combination of ceiling-mounted strip, lower directional lighting and lighted mirror to give beautifully even light to work areas,” Alan said. “The star of the salon is our 16-foot color bar. It runs the entire width of the salon and serves both as a design focal point and a convenient, visible place to mix color. In the reception area, we have a beautiful faux bois tree stump table created by local artist George Secaris, that we use as a launch table and to display fresh flowers.”
